Development notes

It's Alive!!!!

I have spent the last week diving into this project again. I have been fixing bugs and smoothing out some of the user interface, while planning for more content. WOOP. It's about time I got excited about this project again.\

My plan is at least 1 hour a day, if not more. I WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE.

No New Update in May

I promised an update in May, but other things in life have got in the way (also, have started playing Fortnite...RIP).

I have not given up, just taking a slight hiatus while I figure out other things.

I'm still thinking of ideas, and working on the soundtrack when I have a melodic inspiration.

It's not dead, do not fret.

April News Update

Production has slowed, but not stopped. I have now composed 16 songs for this game, and been working on some aesthetic things.

Expect a new update near the middle of May :)

Running Bug List

This is where I'll put a total archive of the reported bugs present in the game.

GAME BREAKING BUGS:

> Above the boss room in the Forest, the game will crash if you try to use the Red Energy Cluster to go to the room above.

MINOR AESTHETIC BUGS:

> Your shadow sometimes goes to the first enemy when attacking the lower enemy.

> The cursor in the Teleport Menu can't reach the last save point, but you can still teleporting

I wasn't going to release this beta so soon, since there are still some big tweaks to certain things, as well as a few other features I have planned. I'll make a list for the curious ones down below.

NEW SOUNDTRACK!

With some help from James and Jake, I have started composing the soundtrack for the game, which has slowed progress slightly, but for a good reason!

The only songs in the game that haven't been composed yet are the ones for The Forest and Tropic Town, and also one of the two battle themes. The battle theme that is composed maybe could be for a boss, if I can make a better battle theme.

CONTROLS:

Z = Jump

X = Action/Block

Space = Menu

Arrows = Move

Esc = Quit (You will lose save progress!)

Hold X and Press Z at a save point = Teleport, if you have gotten the warp powerup.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

- Don't try to go too high in The Forest. Don't use the Red Energy Clusters to jump above a screen, otherwise you may get an error.

- Spells are still underwhelming. I have plans to make them cooler and more powerful.

TOTALS (SPOILERS):

- Over 100 enemies to battle.

- 2 bosses.

- 8 different areas to explore (Technically 9, but # 9 doesn't have a different color on the map yet.).

- 40 Hearts, so far.

- 3 Weapons (only 2 if you find the 3rd before you find the 2nd, or the 2nd before the 1st).
